Find a server, put it on your watchlist, add the players you care about and get a Discord ping the second they log in. Everything on this page is free and needs nothing but a Steam login.
Click Sign in with Steam. No email, no password — RustMetrics only receives your SteamID, display name and avatar.
Open the Server Browser, find your server and click + Watch.
Go to Watchlist, type a player name, SteamID64 or Steam profile URL into the server card and hit + Watch. Or click ▤ View Player List & History on the card and hit + next to anyone who is online right now.
Paste a Discord webhook in Settings — or click Notif in the top bar for browser pop-ups. Full Discord setup ↓
RustMetrics posts into any Discord channel through a webhook. Works while your PC is off and your browser is closed — the check runs on our server, not in your tab.
Open your Discord server, click the server name and go to:
Give it a name (e.g. RustMetrics), pick the channel the alerts should land in, then click Copy Webhook URL. You need the Manage Webhooks permission on that server — on your own server you have it.
Open Settings and paste the URL into Discord Webhook. Tick what you want to hear about:
Click Save settings, then Send test message. A message from RustMetrics should appear in your channel within a few seconds.
Alerts only fire for players on your watchlist. Add them as shown in Watch players ↓. From then on a ping looks like this:
https://discord.com/api/webhooks/. Copy it again — one missing character breaks it.The browser lists live Rust servers with population, queue, map and wipe timer. No login needed to look around.
Type part of a server name, or narrow it down with the filters:
Only care about Europe? The EU Rust server list has the region preset.
Each row shows live players, queue (+12q), next wipe (in 3d) and tags. A ⚠ pop? tag means the server reports more players than slots with no queue — likely fake pop.
Click the server name to open its page with population charts. Good way to see if it still holds players at 2am or only on wipe day.
Adds the server to your watchlist. The button turns into ✓ Watching. Not signed in yet? You'll be asked to log in with Steam first.
The Watchlist shows every server you watch as a card: live pop, map, wipe countdown and your watched players with online status. It's tied to your Steam account, so it follows you to every device.
Easiest way: + Watch in the browser.
Know the address? Enter the IP or hostname and the query port at the top of the Watchlist and click + Server.
Grid or List at the top right. Clear Watchlist removes every server at once — use with care.
You watch players per server. Three ways to add one — pick whichever is fastest.
Every card in your Watchlist has a field at the bottom. Enter a player name, a SteamID64 (17 digits, starts with 7656…) or a Steam profile URL, then click + Watch.
Click the orange ▤ View Player List & History button at the bottom of a server card. It opens the full player list with history and a pop chart — hit + next to anyone online to watch them.
In Friends playing Rust now, click + Track next to a friend. Their server isn't on your watchlist yet? The button says + Server & Track and adds both in one go.
Some servers run streamer mode (censorplayerlist): the public player list shows random names, so watching by name can't work. RustMetrics marks those servers with ⚠ Names randomized.
Open the player's Steam profile and copy the URL — steamcommunity.com/profiles/7656… and steamcommunity.com/id/name both work, a bare SteamID64 too.
Paste it into the player field on the server card and click + Watch. RustMetrics then reads their Rust status straight from Steam — streamer mode or not.
In the app's top bar, click Notif and allow notifications when your browser asks. The button switches to ON.
Browser pop-ups only work while RustMetrics is open in a tab. For alerts with the browser closed, use Discord.
Click Open in Calendar for Apple or Google Calendar. For Outlook or web-only clients, copy the HTTPS URL and add it as a subscribed calendar.
Every server on your watchlist shows up with its next wipe. The feed updates once an hour on its own.
Does it cost anything? No. No Pro tier, no ads. Browsing needs no account; watchlists and alerts need a Steam login.
How fast are alerts? Watched servers are checked about every 60 seconds, so a ping usually lands within a minute.
Can other people see my watchlist? No. Watchlist, watched players and webhook are per account and never shared.
Do I need to keep the site open? For Discord alerts, no. For browser pop-ups, yes.
Why is a watched player never online? Name spelled differently in-game, the server uses streamer mode, or their Steam profile is private. Try the SteamID64.
Is this BattleMetrics? No — a free alternative focused on player presence, wipes and fake-pop detection.
Sign in, watch one server, add one name. Two minutes.
